Annapolis Update: February 15, 2015

Things are really picking up in my committee as well as with the bills I am sponsoring.  In the Senate  Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs Committee (EHEA), we have considered legislation including whether to legalize home births with midwives; requiring sufficient parking at Early Voting sites; finally honoring our Vietnam veterans; and… so much more!  Each day’s hearings brings a passionate group of witnesses from all corners of our beautiful state.  Please let me know if you will be coming to speak out on an issue of interest to you; I hope you will stop by to say hello!

But you don’t need to sign up to testify on any specific legislation in order to visit Annapolis.  Next Monday, the District 17 Team is hosting a terrific opportunity for you to mingle with your elected leaders, enjoy a light meal, and see a session of the Senate (or House) in action.

Stay Tuned…

Next week, I will offer an update on issues affecting Montgomery County as well as an overview on some of the legislation I have sponsored.

In the meantime, please feel free to contact me with your questions or opinions.  You can reach my office at Cheryl.Kagan@senate.state.md.us or call toll-free at 301/858-3134.  In addition, I am active on social media and can be found on Facebook at State Senator Cheryl C. Kagan, on Twitter at @CherylKagan, and now on Instagram at @CherylCKagan.  Stay safe and warm out there!

Best,

Cheryl
