It’s time!

October 29, 2024

Dear Friend:

You know this is a HUGE and historic election. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you how to get a mail-in ballot. I suspect you are aware of how and when to Early Vote in person. And, here’s the scoop on where to vote on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5th.

You’ve already voted? Your work isn’t done yet! Please reach out to your friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors. Do you know folks in a swing state (AZ, GA, MI, NV, NC, PA, & WI) you might contact? Or, do you have time to volunteer to make phone calls or knock on doors? We need you… and our democracy is depending on you!

Care for my thoughts before you vote?

I am working hard to elect Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz. And, we need Angela Alsobrooks and April McClain Delaney (and obviously, our beloved Jamie Raskin) in Congress. But too many voters overlook our School Board, which controls roughly half our County’s budget. In addition to all of this, you can check out my preferences and explanations on the two vitally important ballot measures!

Early Voting (In Person)

Just Three More Days!!!

You can cast a ballot early through Thursday, October 31st. Polls are open each day from 7am- 8pm. You can register to vote, change your address, or cast a ballot at any of the County’s Early Vote Centers; find a convenient location for you here (en Español).

Join us this Saturday in Gaithersburg. Knock on doors or make phone calls for the Democratic ticket… including Senate nominee Angela Alsobrooks and 6th district’s Congressional nominee, April McClain Delaney! We’ll start at 1pm. Learn more, sign up, and make a difference as we work to WIN!!!

Post-Election: Counting the Ballots…

As you may know, I sponsored and passed legislation– first vetoed by former Governor Larry Hogan– that will prevent enormous delays in canvassing ballots and certifying our election results. Fortunately, our local boards of elections have already started processing mail-in ballots so that we’ll have preliminary results in a timely way. Still– it will be a number of days before all votes are received, reviewed, and tabulated.

P.S. if you’ve got a mail-in ballot: If you return your ballot (postage-paid) by mail, it must be postmarked on or before Election Day (November 5th). You may also deposit it in any convenient, secure, ballot drop-off box before 8 pm on Election Day.
